Sound insulation

The purpose of the sound insulation is to avoid any kind of transmission of acoustic waves and mechanical vibrations from inside the enclosure to outside, and vice versa. This enables the construction of soundproofed booths, best enclosures for production and managing of acoustical waves (recording, mixing and mastering studios, concert halls), anechoic and semi anechoic chambers, etc.

These objectives can be accomplished by measuring the transmission loss or insertion loss coefficients and the Weighted Noise Reduction (Lw or L’w). Once the measurements are carried out, definitive sound insulation is achieved by the implementation of acoustical barriers, vibration damping panels and absorptive materials. The use of these elements is previously calculated in order to accomplish the best cost-benefit ratio.
